Expanding Service for Kitchener Commuters
New Service Updates Starting Sept 18th

KITCHENER – The Ontario Government is pleased to announce essential modifications to the GO Bus schedules that will positively impact Kitchener and Waterloo Region commuters. The update is part of the province’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience and adapting to evolving demands with updates to GO Route 31 and the Kitchener Line starting September 18, 2023.
“Expanded transit services don’t just connect places; they connect people to opportunities, reduce traffic congestion, and help build sustainable communities for a brighter future,” said Mike Harris, Member of Provincial Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga. “I am extremely pleased that the province is expanding GO train service in Kitchener so that our communities can better enjoy an enhanced experience and more options to serve their transit needs.”
Starting September 18, the GO Bus Route 31 schedule will adjust in response to increased train service on the Kitchener line.
- Customers can now take the new Kitchener line train, departing Union Station at 11:34 p.m., and making all stops to Mount Pleasant GO. This train is 12 cars long and will provide customers with additional capacity, including bike space. Customers should visit gotransit.com to plan their trips in advance.
- The 12:01 a.m. westbound bus trip from Union Station to Bramalea GO will depart at 12:11 a.m.
- The 11:30 p.m. westbound bus trip from York Mills Bus Terminal will now be converted to 33E, departing at the usual time and continuing on to Georgetown GO.
- There is also a new westbound bus route 31K trip departing Union Station at 12:21 a.m.
Also starting September 18, the 8:30 a.m. weekday westbound bus route 15 trip from Aldershot GO will depart four minutes later to provide a better connection to the Lakeshore West train.The updates are available for GO Transit customers at www.GOTransit.com.
