Building Ontario for You Ontario’s 2024 Fall Economic Statement
WATERLOO – As MPP for Kitchener-Conestoga and Minister of Red Tape Reduction, I’m proud to highlight the positive impacts of our government’s 2024 Fall Economic Statement, delivered by the Minister of Finance, reaffirming our commitment to building a stronger Ontario under the leadership of Premier Doug Ford.
Under this government, we are focused on delivering real, tangible results for the people of Ontario. Our government is continuing to get it done by backing the joint project between Grand River Hospital and St. Mary’s General Hospital to ensure faster, more efficient access to care for our region’s growing population. We are also adding 184 new student spaces at Laurelwood Public School in Waterloo, as well as a new English Catholic elementary school in Kitchener that will serve 527 students and provide 88 licensed childcare spaces. Our government is improving transportation infrastructure- the ongoing enhancements to the Kitchener GO Line will enable two-way, all-day service, with the new train platform in Guelph set to be completed in 2024. Finally, we are committed to supporting long-term care, with The Village of Winston Park now providing 109 new and 179 upgraded long-term care beds, ensuring our seniors receive the care they deserve. These investments demonstrate our government’s commitment to supporting communities across the region, making life easier and more affordable for the people of Ontario.
